Policy Statement of WireStrungharp.com
- All aspects of the wirestrung harp will be considered.
- All national perspectives will be considered. This includes the Irish and Scottish lands from which the wirestrung harp came, the neighbouring lands of Wales and Brittany, and others further afield which have music that fits the instrument's special character (such as English hymns, American folk music, French carols, etc.)
- There will be a general emphasis on the diatonic wirestrung harp, as this is the instruments most common form.
- Aspects of chromaticism will nevertheless be covered. Double or triplerows under harps and harpists as this is a relatively early form (witness the Dalway Harp), sharping devices such as lever and blades under Revival and Transformation as these are more recent innovations, and alternate tunings in Community and Support.
- Very modern forms, such as electrified harps, will find a home under Revival and Transformation.
- Submissions for possible inclusion on the site are welcome.
- Submitted content will be reviewed by at least two people, to avoid claims of conflicts, prior to posting on the site.
- Contributions of smaller items may be incorporated. For example, there is a timeline of Irish harpers on the site. If someone were to find a hitherto unknown harper with acceptable documentation, that information would be added to the timeline.
